Tusker project fame-Carine

Programme Critique
Tusker Project Fame

I chose to critique Tusker Project Fame because it is one of the most interesting programmes aired on a local television, Citizen Television. Tusker project Fame attracts most youth and teenagers all over East Africa. However it motives the upcoming musicians since it is about singing competition being in the academy and also studies one’s characters and behaviors. I have been watching Tusker Project Fame and I have been critiquing it as follows;
CAMERA SHOTS

Various shots have been used so far, this is to bring out different stories that the producer wants to tell the audience. For instance in different episodes I noticed the wide shot mostly used to show the whole house or academy. The kitchen layout is shown and I realized there was zooming of of camera greatly used when the contestants are eating and one could be able to identify well the food that is in the dish. One day Gabiru, the Rwandan contestant who had his hobby as eating was eating one day in the dinning table while the rest of the contestants were having a discussion in the house about their performances and I noticed that the camera man made a very nice shot where he zoomed the food in the plates and also an extreme close-up shot to show Gabiru’s chiks chewing
Another nice shot I notice when Musechu from Tanzania was performing He performed Congolese rumba which was so amazing. It got everybody excited including Judge Ian. He dance accompanied by His fellow contestants, Davis and Steve. Musechu was wearing a skinny jean which facilitates his dancing while dancing the cameraman locust on him where I realized dolly shot because I could tell that the Cameraman moved the camera close to the subject.

I also realized that whenever the contestant is practicing their songs dolly is used where the camera is moves towards the contestant and they are seen clearly.
The lighting was so good where I noticed last Sunday the 22nd of November where the décor was really appearing so clear and also during the tree planting the contestant had gone out during the day. The sun was hot but I noticed a good lighting established really it was so good I could see natural light no effects of the sun. The camera man made a good use of white balancing.

 Tusker Project Fame still continues. The competition has reached to the pick now where we are soon going to vote the East African Winner. Indeed iot was a nice time watching and critiquing the programme TPF. I would like to thank our Facilitator for having facilitated me to learn more about the camera use.
