08-1458 MOTHER-IN-LAW EPISODE 8

In this particular episode aired on the 26th of September 2010, Tina, Alison’s eldest daughter is planning to go out for a date with Rasta, who works for Alison. Rasta is Tina’s long-term boyfriend and her parents have not yet approved of their relationship. Alison is not in and she has left Charity, her mother-in-law to be the boss in the house. A problem crops out here on who Tina should ask for permission to go out.
SHOTS
Various shots have been used to bring out different actors expression in this particular episode.
In the kitchen’s scenario, a wide shot has been used to show the kitchen’s layout and a zoom in of Mustapha preparing supper is established. Also, an extreme close-up shot of the spaghetti being prepared is well brought out. Also, an extreme knee shot of Tina has been used to show her dressing and another extreme-shot to show Rasta’s timber boots has been used.
All shots in this episode have been well established.

LIGHTING
In the house, yellow lighting has been used to suite the color décor of the different rooms. Also, as Tina walks down the stairs, the lighting is quickly adjusted to suite her brown dressing. This is to avoid any instances of shading or color clashing. Apart from this case, lighting in the various scenes has been well established. This includes both the indoor and outdoor lighting.


MUSIC
Instrumental music is used to depict the change in moods and also to fill the silence in the room when Tina has been given permission to go out and Charlie comes in with a different view. There is a sudden silence in the room as the actors look at each other knowingly. Music then comes out here to bring out the mood of in the room.

CAMERA MOVEMENTS
There is a dolly in of Tina as she stands in the living room ready to go out on her date with Rasta. A dolly in of Alison’s house is also well brought out.
