November 21, 2010
The probation show is aired every Sunday from 7.30pm to 9.00pm on Citizen Television.
Events.
The level of this show is just about to hit its climax and show this show was marked with splendor and vigor. It started with a few promotions, and then the two presenters stepped into the stage to introduce the remaining seven contestants, judges and teachers. Then followed a guest performance. The performances were more professional with Rachel’s regarded as the best according to the judges. All the performers had improved but of course for the show to end four of them had to go on probation. This landed; Steve, Musechu, Paleki and Gaele on probation and one of them will be leaving the academy in the next eviction show. The most outstanding thing about this show was the way; there was more coordination between the performers and the audience.
Camera movements
The most spectacular camera shot was a zoom in from between two drums leading to a focus on Musechu while he was performing. Other shots included zooming out, close ups, extreme close ups, over the shoulder. There was much panning especially because most of the contestants had a dance after the song. In front of the stage , the cameras were mounted on a cart which travels along tracks producing very smooth movements.(tracking shots) cameras were also observed moving from left to right ( horizontally) and also vertically with respect to the subject.
Lighting
There was a more spectacular lighting especially as the contestants moved around the stage, different colours were displayed to merge or complement the performances. The other lights, key light, back light and kill light were well executed.
Sound
At first there was a mishap of sound, as the presenters introduced the show, the background music was too loud. At the same time there were many sessions when noises from the camera men were heard during the show. However, all other sources of sound e.g. microphones worked well and clearly.
